Pat Hicks is a Dallas-based author and the writer of My Name is a Lie and Other Truths, a memoir about identity, family, and the stories we are handed at birth — and what happens when you find out they are not true.

The book came out of a discovery that upended everything Pat thought was known about family, heritage, and self. It is a true story told with unflinching honesty and, at times, dark humor.
